My Method
A customized process that adapts the parenting language to your family’s needs, helping you face present and future challenges while maintaining strong, positive relationships.

How Does It Work?
Our process relies on written communication
To emphasize the important function of language in parenting, the learning is based on written communication between us. Much like in reflective journaling, you respond to a regular set of questions by describing family-related interactions and daily events. As I respond, I introduce you to the concepts, tools and language.
Why is this significant? The benefits of reflective journaling
-
Allows for a detailed and accurate description of the situation.
-
Increases self-awareness of our language and behavior as parents.
-
Creates a sense of intimate sharing.
-
An opportunity to reexamine the situation from a more relaxed and distant perspective.
-
Gives “time and space” to practice the newly learned language and/or strategy.
-
Rereading reinforces learning outcomes and retention in memory.
In addition
We hold several scheduled, face-to-face meetings, either in cyberspace or at an appropriate geographic location. These serve to tailor the learning program to your family's needs, to ensure progress, and to select additional emphases and focal issues. During our time together, I offer constant support via WhatsApp.
Length of the process
Minimum two consecutive months.
A Sample of Topics and Issues We May Address

Routine and Everyday Life
An effective routine turns the home into a stable environment, where children and teens can safely play, experiment, learn and develop. Introducing routines and established customs into your family's daily life gives a feeling of balance and results in a more harmonious household

Behavior & Discipline
Undoubtedly, the issues of behavior and discipline are going to present a challenge for all parents, at some point in the parenting journey. Here you will learn how to apply the Proficient Parenting Lingo to reflect your disciplinary principles--whatever they may be--using a supportive and loving approach.

Family Dynamics
The Proficient Parenting Lingo incudes positive behavior management strategies that involve self-awareness and self-improvement. Naturally, when family members learn to manage their emotions and behaviors, this fosters healthy and respectful relationships among all.

Ages & Stages
As our children grow and mature, they transition from one developmental stage to the next. The transition is rarely smooth; rather, it can feel like a two-step regression before we recognize any new development. Throughout the process, you will learn to identify which behaviors are typical of the different stages.
The Parenting Lingo approach is suitable for use with children of any age, from 12 months to 18 years old.
